This site is a human encyclopedia of MLB players. The box score tells you what happened. This site tries to explain who made it happen — and why that matters beyond the game.
Every profile is written by AI (Claude Sonnet), trained on publicly available interviews, news articles, and official sources. Cultural notes are added for cross-cultural readers: English speakers reading about Japanese players, Japanese readers reading about American or Latin players.
Profiles are updated regularly as new source material becomes available. The "last updated" date on each profile reflects when the AI last synthesized new information.
We use publicly available materials only: official MLB interviews, team press releases, Google News RSS, and verified social media posts. We do not scrape paywalled articles or use private data.
